The Max-Böhlen-Museum |
 |
 |

 |
 |
In
1939 the Swiss painter, Max Böhlen, purchased “Jägerhaus”, four days
before the outbreak of World War 2 and along with his family, lived and
worked here painting his landscapes, portraits, flower and still life
paintings, sketches and water colours. A documentation of his life and
work was complied by Professor Dr. Max Huggler (former Director of the
Art Museum of Bern) in the book titled "Max Böhlen".
In the
Autumn of 1995 the “Max Böhlen Museum” was official opened as a "living
museum" meaning it is available for the exhibition of other artists
work; as well as a reception room for functions and cultural events.
The opening times correspond to those of the restaurant.
